Read the Wall Street Journal excerpt here.

When Tom’s son Ezra was diagnosed with autism before he turned three, a counselor suggested that he and his wife grieve for “the child Ezra didn’t turn out to be.”  But Tom had, as he writes, no instinct to mourn.  Instead, the counselor’s remark helped him bring out something within himself:  “a determination to embrace Ezra and pour love on my quirky little boy.”  Read about the results in FOLLOWING EZRA–and be prepared for tears to spring to your eyes.
