The Big Skinny: How I Changed My FattitudeCarol Lay grew up in Southern California and received her BA in Fine Arts from UCLA.  Soon after, she discovered her talent for graphic narrative and went on to produce comic stories and strips for publications such as MAD Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and The New Yorker Magazine.  Her long-running weekly comic strip, WayLay, appeared in LA Weekly, New York Press, The San Francisco Examiner, The Hartford Courant, and numerous daily and weekly newspapers in the U.S. and abroad.  Many of Lay’s strips were collected in the books Now, Endsville, Joy Ride, and Strip Joint.  She wrote a prose novel for DC Comics/Pocket Books entitled Mythos and produced a graphic novel with Last Gasp Publishing entitled Goodnight, IreneTHE BIG SKINNY: How I Changed My Fattitude is a full-color graphic chronicle of Lay’s struggle with and triumph over weight problems.
