LATINA: Women’s Voices from the Borderlands (Touchstone)

Lillian Castillo-Speed, who was born in East Los Angeles, is Director of the Chicano Studies Library and head of the three Ethnic Studies libraries at the University of California, Berkeley. LATINA brings together short pieces by both well-known and emerging Latina writers that focus on themes of heritage, lives in an often alienating land, political concerns, hopes, and dreams. Contributors include Sandra Cisneros, Julia Alvarez, Ana Castillo, and others.
