Ariel Bernstein’s latest book, WE LOVE FISHING, features four animal friends setting out to spend a day fishing. But for Squirrel, going fishing means bugs, rain, and smelly fish. How will it end up being a fun day for everybody?
In Ariel’s debut picture book, I HAVE A BALLOON, Monkey frantically searches for objects to trade for Owl’s balloon, but ends up with his own wonderful object: a sock. Defying readers’ expectations, this is not a book about sharing. The characters return in WHERE IS MY BALLOON? Owl asks Monkey to hold his balloon, and what he gets back is, well, NOT his balloon.
Ariel’s WARREN & DRAGON chapter books feature a
modern day Calvin and Hobbes-esque friendship between a dreamy boy and his vain dragon companion. Kirkus praised them as “adorable fun for chapter-book newbies looking for…giggles.”
